UBC Okanagan’s Dr. Eva Nichols and Dr. Alexander Uhl Among First Recipients of Peter Wall Legacy Awards
Dr. Alexander Uhl, a faculty member with UBC Okanagan’s School of Engineering and co-lead of the Solar Energy for Net Zero Research Excellence Cluster, has been recognized with a prestigious Peter Wall Legacy Award. He is joined by graduate students Usmita Adhikari, Thais Ayres Rebello, and Elnaz Ghahremani Rad as inaugural recipients of the award, which celebrates impactful research focused on global and local sustainability challenges.
Funded by a transformative $100+ million endowment, the Peter Wall Legacy Awards provide $4 million annually, positioning them as one of North America’s largest internal research funding programs. Dr. Uhl’s work exemplifies the cutting-edge sustainability research taking place at UBC Okanagan.
