Dr. Tanja Voegel is the Project Manager for the Solar Energy for Net Zero Research Excellence Cluster.

Dr. Tanja Voegel holds a doctoral degree (Dr. rer. nat.) from the Albert-Ludwig-Universität Freiburg, Germany, completed in collaboration with the University of California, Davis, USA, with a focus on plant pathology and microbiology. She continued her research at the University of British Columbia Okanagan as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Associate, specializing in plant pathology, soil microbiology, agricultural greenhouse gas emissions, and sustainable strategies to improve grapevine health. Dr. Voegel currently coordinates the Institute for Biodiversity, Resilience and Ecosystem Services (BRAES) and the Let’s Talk Science Outreach Program at UBC Okanagan. In January 2026, she joined the Solar Energy Cluster as a Project Manager.
