“A Conversation with Dr. David Suzuki Humanity at a Crossroad: Business as Usual or Transformation”
On April 4, 2024, Dr. David Suzuki delivered an enlightening lecture at UBC Okanagan, focusing on the future of our planet and the impressive actions required to address climate change. This distinguished event was presented by the UBC Cluster of Research Excellence in Solar Energy for Net Zero and the UBC Faculty of Applied Science.
David Suzuki is a grandfather, scientist, former host of CBC’s The Nature of Things, and Emeritus Professor at the University of British Columbia. Through radio, television, and over 55 books, he has communicated humanity’s collective impact on the natural world, an impact that now threatens the future of human life. Among these many accolades, David is a Companion of the Order of Canada, has received UNESCO’s Kalinga Prize for Science, the Right Livelihood Award, the Global 500, and has been conferred over 30 honorary degrees from universities in Canada, the U.S., and Australia. Dr.Suzuki has been honored with adoptions and names from eight Indigenous Nations in Canada and Australia.
